We offer comprehensive rules defining each category, skill levels, age divisions, a user-friendly online registration portal, dedicated perks, special pricing & offers for studio directors. There are dedicated perks for studio directors.

VIRTUAL COMPETITION RULES & GUIDELINES
- You can ONLY REGISTER UNDER ONE ACCOUNT
- Please be advised that all entries registered under a school or studio submission cannot be registered independently for the same virtual event. (No Independent entries accepted at live events)
- Group Routines can only be submitted by a Studio, School, or Team, and not through an independent account.

- Absolutely no coaching! (Teachers may place 6 & under competitors in position/on stage ONLY. NO COACHING ALLOWED)
- Props may be used in all genres
- Event schedules will be emailed to the email on file before the event date
- Entry Fees cover the processing of entries. No Refunds for any reason
- All videos must be uploaded correctly, following the instructions below (Failure to do so may result in point deductions and/or disqualification without refunds)
- By entering our Virtual Competition, you accept that all judges’ decisions are final
- TE is not responsible for any injuries that occur during the filming of these videos
- By participating in this event, you permit images to be used solely for That’s Entertainment, its partner companies, and sponsors for casting, promotional materials, and publications, including That’s Entertainment’s website, Social Media, Music Videos, Short Films, Event Recaps, Interviews, and more. I further agree to waive any rights of compensation or ownership thereto.
- Bad sportsmanship of any kind, in person or virtually, can be cause for disqualification without refund (This includes soliciting competitors)
Specialized Focus & Niche Genres:
Acro Dance: The core of our competition, emphasizing a seamless 50/50 blend of musicality, emotional expression, line, extension, and acrobatic movements within a dance context. Fluid transitions and artistic expression are paramount.
Acro Gymnastics: Floor routines with mainly gymnastics passes and little to no dancing.
Acrobatics: For routines where the primary focus is acrobatics (approx. 80%), with dance elements as a secondary component (20%). This category will have a more gymnastics or sport acro feel, showcasing technical tumbling, balancing, and advanced skills.
Aerial Arts: Dedicated categories for Hoop/Ring, Silks/Fabric/Tissue, Trapeze, Cube, and Open aerial apparatuses, with a focus on strength, grace, technique, and creative integration with dance.
Baton: involves the skilled manipulation of a metal rod (a baton) in a coordinated routine, while simultaneously performing synchronized dance, gymnastics, and acrobatic movements to music.
Circus: A combination of multiple genres. May use slackline, hand balancing, performance art, etc.
Contortion: Highlighting extreme flexibility, unique poses, balance, and control.
Partner Acro/Adagio: Highlighting advanced lifts, balances, and intricate partner work in duo/trio routines.
Beam & Hand Balancing: Specific categories for showcasing specialized skills in either beam or hand balancing.
Unrivaled Judging Excellence:
– Featuring highly qualified judges, including, but not limited to, nationally and internationally recognized acrobatics specialists, former professional acrobatic dancers/gymnasts, choreographers, and more
-Strict policies are implemented to avoid conflicts of interest, such as judges not scoring routines from their own students, ensuring ultimate fairness
– Every routine will receive video critiques from our judges, providing invaluable feedback and opportunities for improvement
Scoring, Adjudication, Placement/TOP 1-3, 5, and/or 10:
– Adjudication Tiers, Scoring per judge, Top 3 Titlist & Photogenics will follow standard TE competition Rules: https://thatsentertainmentpa.com/judging-criteria/
– Males and Females will be separated for solos only
– All routines will be adjudicated and announced
– “Top 3, 5, and/or 10” status, separated by age, level, and genre
– When alone in a genre, skill level, age division, and routine size, you must achieve a particular score to receive 1st place, or you will be adjudicated only:
** Rising Star (265 or Higher) Shooting Star (275 or Higher) All Star (285 or Higher) **
– 1 Overall High Score awarded in each level (Ages 7-18 years, all routine sizes and genres combined & eligible)
– Critiques & Scores can take 1-2 weeks to be uploaded to your registration account
Points Per Judge
Scores are based on three judges, with each judge awarding a maximum of 100 points, and a perfect score is 300.
Technique (including Difficulty & Safety): up to 30 points
Showmanship (including Performance/Artistry & Execution/Cleanliness): up to 30 points
Rhythm/Timing (including Musicality): up to 20 points
Choreography: up to 15 points
Overall Appearance: up to 5 points
Overall Appearance: encompasses general appearance, including age-appropriate costuming, makeup, tights, shoes, age-appropriate music, and moves. Points will be deducted for inappropriate costumes, music, or moves.
Meaningful Awards:
– Awards differ from our general competitions unless otherwise noted
– Virtual Certificates will be awarded and emailed for “Top 3” Photogenics & “Top 3, 5, and/or 10” routines (to be emailed)
– Overall High Score receives a virtual certificate and a physical awards banner (to be mailed)
– Titles will receive a sash & Title PiN (to be mailed)
– Specialty Award Certificates may include, but are not limited to:
- All Access Passes (Best Choreography/Free entry into creative Master Challenge-details apply)
- MVCs (Most Valuable Competitor per school- Free solo to a TE regionals, and potential other opportunities- details apply)
- EOTY (Entertainer Of The Year Cup- opportunity to compete for the cup at Nationals)
- Elite Team (opportunities to perform in our next music video or short film- details apply))

– You must upload 1 to 2 photos from the uploaded routine that you would like to be featured on your award
– No uploaded photos, and you will receive general certificates only
– Your secondary photo will be used when and if you receive any Specialty or Overall High Score awards
– All awards can take up to 1 month to be mailed and or emailed

- Any Certificates & Credits from previous events can be used towards Virtual Events

VIDEO REQUIREMENTS
- Videos from previous competitions, recitals, or other performances are accepted
- Professional videos are not required
- Videos can be recorded on any device you have and filmed in any environment
- Be sure videos are clear and accurately display all competitors
- Minimize background Items
- No other individuals should appear in the video besides the performer(s)
- Film your video with you facing the camera so the judges can properly critique
- Graphics, intros, and exits are not accepted
- All video submissions must be unedited with no splicing
- All videos must be uploaded to your registration account
HOW TO UPLOAD YOUR VIDEO INSTRUCTIONS
- Video is identical to music uploads, except the file types are different.
- All videos must be in one of the following file types: MOV, MP4, M4V, or HEVC.
- The system will support a video file taken from a phone or a previous competition video, as long as it’s in the correct format.
***There are free video tools, such as Handbrake, that can help you change formats and reduce file size. *** Huge high-definition files do not help judge, and make it difficult to manage.

HOW TO UPLOAD PHOTOS
- Click on the Photo icon to show the upload area.
- Photos must be one of the following types: PNG, JPEG, JPG.
- You can drag and drop the image directly onto the Photo container, or click the Upload link and navigate the file.
- To replace the photo, simply drag and drop or click the Upload link again. Click the delete picture to remove the photo.
*** The icon of photos will change to include the checkbox when our photos are uploaded.

VIEWING EVENT
- The event & awards will be broadcast via ViewStub
- To view the event, a charge of $8 + service fees per ticket is required
- A Portion of Ticket Sales will be donated to Non-Profit Spark Evolution & its Grant Program, as stated above
- The event will be recorded & can be viewed on your viewstub.com account for up to 25 days
- Viewstub.com will require you to have a free viewstub.com account to view any events supported by viewstub.com
- If you have attended a past TE Event using Viewstub, you can log back into your account and purchase your donation-based ticket
